The Cartier Love Collection Was Born From a Story of Heartbreak, Not Love
When Cartier first opened their flagship store in New York, the brand found itself looking to new designs that moved away from Parisian opulence and towards the quiet luxury of NYC dressing. Created by Italian jewellery designer Aldo Cipullo in 1969, the Love bracelet was conceived as a lock — something to be worn and never removed. Its iconic screws are not just decorative; they were designed to be sealed shut with a special screwdriver, gifted to a partner.
In 2025, the Cartier Love Collection Grows Again
The Love Unlimited bracelet is the newest evolution of this story. Each piece is made of 200 components with a brand-first clasp that allows the bracelet to be put on or taken off without the usage of a screwdriver — a modern reimagining that retains the Love aesthetic while adapting it for the way we live now.
Discover the Cartier Love Unlimited Bracelet and Ring
I've been wearing the bracelet stacked with older Love pieces and the contrast is beautiful — the Unlimited version has a slightly different finish that catches the light differently. The ring follows the same language: recognisably Love, but with its own distinct character. Both feel like the kind of pieces you reach for every single day.
